Comment: Pierre Le Faguays (* 1892 in Nantes; + September 8, 1962 in Paris) was a French sculptor of the Art Deco period. During the First World War, Le Faguays met the sculptors Marcel Bouraine and Max Le Verrier while a prisoner of war in Germany; they remained friends for the rest of their lives and often worked together. He studied with both of them at the École des Beaux-Arts in Geneva. Here he was a student of the sculptor James Vibert. After the Second World War, he worked as a painter on the Place du Tertre in the Montmartre district of Paris.
