Farhad Gavzan is a draughtsman, painter, curator and art teacher, born in Babol in 1974. From a very young age, he showed a strong interest in visual arts and drawing. He has held several solo exhibitions both in Iran and abroad, published three books with a collection of his drawings and is tireless in curating exhibitions of emerging Iranian artists and giving lectures on various aspects of drawing in art. Artworks by Farhad Gavzan are housed in several notable collections such as: the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art; the DD Museum Izdeshar; the Pejman Foundation and the Karaki Foundation.In his works we find highly abstract representations of human figures and organic matter. In this artwork the artist focuses on pure abstract forms. The long central brushstroke is surrounded by a series of layered shapes that emerge with greater force from the background deliberately left bare by the artist, creating a sort of play of solids and voids, of light and dark. Provenance: the owner had it directly from the artist.
