Abbas Gharib is an Italian artist, architect and designer with Iranian origins. In the painting entitled ‘Calligrafia’, the artist once again highlights lines and curves by making them stand out against a dark green background. Given the title of the painting, the lines and curves should not be interpreted only as the definition of a limited space, but as letters of the alphabet, which the artist has made abstract. Gharib found inspiration in the Persian-Arabic tradition, which uses single letters and religious and non-religious verses to decorate objects and buildings, but adapts it to a contemporary context.Signed and painted at the back. Provenance: the artist.
