China, circa 1850 Large rhyton, in spinach-green jade, decorated in light relief with taotie masks and archaic motifs, the rim of the rounded-edge spout adorned with a stylized Greek frieze. The handle is in the form of a double openwork Greek motif. On a wooden base carved with archaic motifs. Provenance: old label from a Swedish collection Stockholm 1914. H. 27 cm
