† A QINGBAI PORCELAIN 'CHRYSANTHEMUM' BOX AND COVER, SONG-YUAN DYNASTY China, 960-1368. Of compressed globular form with lobed sides resembling the petals of a chrysanthemum flower, impressed on the cover with disc florets of the blossom, applied overall with a transparent glaze pooling to a celadon color in the recesses, save for the raised interior rim, underside of the cover, and base which is left unglazed, revealing the pale body underneath. Provenance: From a private collection in the United Kingdom. Condition: Good condition with minor wear and firing irregularities like crackling, cracks, glaze recesses, dark spots, and pitting. Minor losses and some fritting to the edges.
