The "Pyramid" series is probably the most famous of the works by top Danish designer Harald Nielsen (1892 - 1977). Harald Nielsen began his career as an apprentice in the silver workshop of his brother-in-law Georg Jensen in 1909. After initial Art Nouveau designs, he concentrated on a strict, geometric style in the 1920s and 1930s, which was in keeping with the zeitgeist of the Art Deco period. The "Pyramid" series, which, in addition to cutlery, mainly includes hollowware such as coffee services, plates, bowls, spice sets and candlesticks, was created from 1926 onwards.
