A large Regency brass mounted mahogany and fruitwood Carlton House writing desk
circa 1820

The moulded rounded top with pierced gallery surround, inset with a gilt tooled leather writing surface, centered by a foldable bookholder, with a conforming superstructure with six drawers flanked by one door and two further drawers to each side above three frieze drawers on turned tapering baluster legs and casters. Rest. Slightly faded due to sunlight, the leather lining with wear and losses.
