L'EPEE 1839 L’EPEE 1839 Requiem, Ref. 76.6003/300, case no. 33712, limited edition to 50 pieces, sold in 2017 A rare and very unusual, mint and full-set, limited edition, rainbow lacquered aluminum skull shaped desk clock with jumping hours and sweeping minutes rings, jaws with gold-plated 12 molars and 12 incisors. Fitted with cal. 1853 HMD, gold-plated, in-house movement, key wound, 8-days going, lever escapement. Movement signed. Dim. 19 x 12 x 16 cm. Accompanied by a fitted presentation box with outer packaging, user manual, guarantee card dated 2017, gloves, special unique winding key allowing both anti-clockwise winding and setting time. Requiem was designed in partnership with Kostas Metaxas and developed with passion and care by L’Epée 1839’s master watchmakers in Delémont, Switzerland. This limited edition takes its inspiration from the shape of a human skull and displays the time in the sockets of the eye. A modern, stylized and fancy interpretation of the famous “Memento Mori” watchmaking theme.
