A SERIES OF FOUR PUTTI DEPICTING THE FOUR SEASONS
Design by Michael Powolny, ca. 1907; made by Wiener Keramik (Kunstkeramische Werkstätten) and Gmundner Keramik, until ca. 1912

Putto as spring with flowers, model no. 80/1, company mark of Wiener Keramik until 1912, monogram "PM" (also on the base), painter's mark, min. glaze chips. Putto as summer with cornucopia, model no. 73, Gmundner Keramik company mark c. 1911-25 and Wiener Keramik until 1912, "MP" pressed on the base and another Wiener Keramik company mark; glaze worn and rough. Putto autumn with grapes, model no. 61, Gmundner Keramik company mark c. 1911-25 and Wiener Keramik until 1912, pressed "PM" on the base, slightly worn. Putto with wreath as winter, model no. 83, only at the base pressed "PM" and company mark of Wiener Keramik. Minor glaze faults.
