Meister des Rimini-Altars/Master of the Rimini Altar (Nachfolger/Follower) circa 1430/40 H. 22/28 cm A fine medieval marble Pietà. The Mother of God sits on a simple, narrow throne bench, the figure of Christ lies on her legs, she is supporting his upper body with her right hand. She wears a robe later coloured in red and blue with extremely detailed drapery. The moulded base worked separately. Heavily damaged, restored and later painted. Additions.
