César Baldaccini known as CESAR (1921-1998)
Compression of a model Ferrari on wood panel enhanced with pencil
Signed lower right
49 x 39 x 5.5 cm
Slightly missing on the panel
Note: In 1960, the sculptor César discovered a giant press of a new type at a suburban scrap dealer's, capable of instantly producing one-ton packages of metal. The three compressions of cars made using this process, presented in Paris in 1960, caused a scandal. Since then, the artist has used his compressions in numerous works.
