Othon COUBINE (1883-1969)

Othon Coubine (known as Otakar or Ottokar Kubín) was born in Boskowitz, a town in Moravia, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and now in the Czech Republic. Coubine first studied at the Academies of Prague and Antwerp, then traveled to Italy from 1902 to 1903. In 1912, he left Austria-Hungary and settled in Paris, where he took the name Coubine. He became a naturalized French citizen in 1926 and died in Marseille.
