DAVIES RUPERT: (1916-1976) British actor, best remembered for his portrayal of the police detective Jules Maigret in the British television series Maigret (1960-63) based on Georges Simenon´s novels. A scarce vintage signed 8 x 10 photograph of Davies in a head and shoulders pose, in costume as Maigret, lighting his pipe. Signed by the actor in blue fountain pen ink, ´Best wishes, Yours sincerely, Rupert Davies´, largely across a darker area at the base of the image, also adding his character name Maigret in his hand beneath his signature.
