Large Boulle marquetry cartel in tortoiseshell and brass. The base is adorned with an ormolu cherub seated on a globe, flanked by fire pots, the uprights in female terms terminating in volutes and resting on four horses. The circular dial features hours in blue Roman numerals on white enameled pastilles, with Louis XIV's profile in the center and Renommée figures at the bottom, and a Love figure with an armillary sphere on either side. The whole rests on a curved base decorated in the center with a stylized hanging drapery.
