Tea set with tray; China, 1960- 1974. Porcelain. Presents marks. Measurements: 6 x 7,5 x 9 cm (cup, x2); 15 x 23 x 13,5 cm (teapot); 1,5 x 25 cm (tray). Lot consists of a teapot, two cups and a porcelain tray. All have figurative decoration depicting scenes from the poem "Tale of the West Wing", which is one of the most famous Chinese dramatic works. It was written by Yuan dynasty playwright Wang Shifu and set during the Tang dynasty. Known as "China's most popular love comedy", it tells the story of a young couple consummating their love without their parents' approval.
