Russian icon from the end of the 19th- beginning of the 20th century. "Virgin of Kazan". Tempera on board with silver metal oklad. Golden frame. Presents slight crack on the face of the Virgin. Measurements: 15 x 12 cm; 31 x 28 cm (frame). Russian icon showing The Virgin and Child in her arms, painted on wood, with metal oklad. The Virgin of Kazan or Our Lady of Kazan is an icon venerated in the Russian Orthodox Church representing the Blessed Virgin Mary as patroness and protector of the city of Kazan.
