Fighting sabre antelopes, Meissen, Knauff Schwerter 1850-1924, 2nd choice, designed by Otto Pilz in 1912, signed to the base, model no. B253, A dynamically moving, naturalistically worked group of two sabre antelopes jumping over each other in playful combat on a flat base. Polychrome underglaze painting. Fired crack, restored, h. 30 cm Pilz is best known for his naturalistic, dynamically animated animal figures, which he produced as a freelance sculptor for the Meissen manufactory from 1905.
