Vase-albarello depicting " Fioraccio castellano" 19th century
height 17 cm, base diameter 7 cm, rim diameter 8.5 cm, maximum width 11 cm height 17 cm, base diameter 7 cm, rim diameter 8.5 cm, maximum width 11 cm 19th centuryThe albarello proposes the classic "floraccio," with central rose between flowers, introduced into castellan majolica by Gesualdo Fuina and realized through his innovative palette, with the introduction of purple-red and bright green colors on white glaze echoing the white kaolin of porcelain. At the bottom is a blank cartouche where the eventual apothecary inscription can be inserted cold. The reverse bears the initials of the patron.
Exhibited at the exhibition "L'Antica Ceramica da Farmacia di Castelli" in Teramo, Rome and Leningrad 2005, in catalog edited by M. R. Proterra at no.175, page 429 (Belriguardo 2004)
