Pair of molded and carved beech chairs, with openwork lyre-shaped backs, horseshoe-shaped seat, resting on curved legs with curved flutes; (restorations, notably the rosettes redone; originally painted).
Stamped by Nicolas-Simon Courtois, master carpenter in 1766.

Although stamped by Courtois, these chairs are reminiscent of the work of Georges Jacob, particularly in the way the inside of the belt is hollowed out.
