Alfred Boucher presented his monumental plaster at the Salon des Artistes français in 1886, where he won a first-class medal, and a gold medal at the Exposition Universelle in 1889. He produced a monumental bronze for the French government, destroyed in 1940, and published reductions by founders Barbedienne and Siot.
