Pair of 19th century neo-Gothic candlesticks.
Bronze.
Measurements: 197 x 85.5 cm.
The candelabras, with the same characteristics, are raised on an architectural base with large Gothic windows, on which a Solomonic baluster rests. The main body has two lateral arms decorated with Gothic openwork fleurons. The piece is crowned by a lighter to hold the candles. Both the dimensions and the intricate ornamentation with openwork and incised motifs are reminiscent of the large candelabra used to light churches and noble residences throughout the 14th-15th centuries. In the late 19th and 20th centuries the historicist movements revisited these historical styles, updating and revaluing them.
