Ensemble of seven musicians; Spain, 20th century. Silver. They have counterweight. They have punches. Measurements: 11 x 5,5 x 6,5 cm (major); 10 x 5 x 5 x 5 cm (minor). Weight: 676 g. (total). Set of seven angels musicians made in silver. Each one of them carries a different musical instrument. They must have been part of a larger sculptural group, as each sculpture is characterized individually in gestures and expression, although they share similar anatomy and facial features. Their nude bodies, smoothly turned, suggest agility and movement; their faces, with soft carriages and almond-shaped gaze, are framed by curly locks. This type of figures of musical child angels were a constant in the Renaissance and, above all, in the Baroque, influencing the following centuries, functioning as an ornamental element in works of sacred character. They represent celestial music and divine glory.
