Scribe scissors; New Spain, 18th century. Steel. Presents inscription on the blade. It possesses faults and wear. Measurements: 26,5 x 5 cm. The scissors of notary or notary's office, acquire this name because its functionality resided in trimming the beards or edges of the sheets of paper, habitual practice among the notaries, civil servants or notaries. This type of scissors were of indispensable use from the XVI century to the XIX century, being those manufactured in Albacete the most famous. In the 17th century, due to the proliferation of the civil service, which allowed the management of the colonies, the demand for these utensils increased widely. In the case of scissors from Albacete, they usually have an inscription with the year and the name of the craftsman and sometimes the name and position of the one who placed the order. It has faults and wear.
