Provenance Paris, Galerie Simon, 1925 (Galerie Simon, established by Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler in 1920, was named after his business partner André Simon. In 1940 Kahnweiler put the gallery in the name of his sister-in-law Louise Leiris. Kahnweiller represented many of the leading artists of the day, including Picasso, Juan Gris and Fernand Léger.
