Flemish school of the early 17th century. "The Resurrection of Christ". Oil on copper. Measurements: 25 x 19,5 cm; 28,5 x 23,5 cm (frame). In this copper the author has represented the theme of the Resurrection of Christ: in a break of golden and luminous glory, the monumental figure of Christ rises exultant on the sky. Framed by little angels behind the clouds, Jesus contemplates the soldier sleeping in the lower left, oblivious to the event taking place. The image frames the usual representation of the scene, as it presents the open tomb. Jesus no longer belongs to the earthly plane, something that shows us his abandonment of the mortal and his transition to the divine, fulfilling his message and the designs of his father. Despite the contrast between the golden tones and the dark colours that make up Christ's cloak and the earthly area, the image reveals a certain degree of detail, which can be seen especially in the gestures of each of the figures in the scene.
