Blois vase also called "Le sport" (sport) Sèvres porcelain ovoid vase decorated with four cameo medallions in light relief depicting Olympic disciplines (shooting sports, cycling, sailing, tennis) on a gilded overlay of olive branches of victory on a Sèvres blue background, the neck highlighted with a flight of biplane planes symbolizing the modernity of the Games. Signed M.O. GUILLONNET INV. and BRACQUEMOND SC. and marked S for Sèvres 1924 DN Height 34.5 cm Presented to the Gold Medalists at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris, 327 of which are known to exist, and extremely rare in this state of preservation. A similar model is kept at the Petit Palais in Paris, and another at the Musée du Sport in Nice.
