He graduated in Architecture in Rome and began his career as a designer in Milan where he also taught set design at the Faculty of Architecture. A unique style that earned him the nickname of “Dalì dei Navigli” that a journalist from Panorama stuck on him years ago and that Figura brings with him without any embarrassment: “At that time I had opened a space on the Navigli and worked mainly on surreal and ironic creations that were very successful, that’s why I was given that nickname”. In the mid-1990s he began his successful collaboration with Athena who consecrated the name of Piero Figura with several successful collections with works for sale at Sothebys and Christies.
