A JAPANESE MEIJI PERIOD SILVER AND GOLD LACQUER SMOKING SET c.1900
Antique early 20th Century Japanese Meiji period very fine gold lacquer & silver smoking set (tabako-bon), boat shaped with a removable draw, lacquer is decorated with ocean waves and birds, rope shape handle terminating with realistically modeled tassels, silver container engraved with cherry tree flowers and bulb finials. Hallmarked Japanese Jingin mark (pure silver 950+ standard), Maker Unknown, comes in its original presentation box.
