[NAPOLEON] Comte de LAS CASES - Mémorial de Sainte-Hélène
From the author and all booksellers in France and abroad, 1823 - A fine copy of the original French edition of this fundamental text on the life of Napoleon Bonaparte. This biography of the Emperor grew out of the Emperor's interviews with Emmanuel de Las Cases on St. Helena, and contributed in no small measure to the importance of the Napoleonic myth.
Elegant half-carton bindings with smooth spines, brown morocco title-pieces, sunning to spines, fresh interiors, some light foxing but not serious.
Complete with the folded hors-texte table (Tracé de Longwood) in volume 2, the folded hors-texte map for the understanding of some chapters of the Italian Campaign dictated by Napoleon in volume 3 and the large folding map of St. Helena in volume 8.
(Tulard, Dictionnaire Napoléon, 1038), (Vicaire, V, 73), (Clouzot,184-185)
In-8, 484pp (1), 454pp (1), 442pp (1), 460pp (4), 462pp (2), 455pp, 445pp, 527pp (1).
