[ARCHITECTURE] Jacopo Barozzi Da VIGNOLA - Il vignola illustrato proposto da Carlo Antonini architetto, e incisore camerale - Roma, 1828, Nella Stamperia di Angelo Ajani - Beautiful and very rare edition dedicated to Prince Gagarin, from his library, illustrated with an engraved frontispiece by C. Antonini, a title vignette, 2 engravings in the text and 55 copper plates. A very fine copy in a superb full-leather binding, with richly decorated boards framed with gilded friezes decorated with figures, smooth spine with gilded grillwork ornaments and red morocco title-piece. Small folio, 6pp (1) 4 plates, 47pp 42 engraved plates, 18pp (2), 9 engraved plates. Provenance: Library of the Princes Gagarin with several stamps.
