[UNIFORMOLOGIE] Eugène TITEUX - History of the King's Military Household from 1814 to 1830
Baudry, Paris, 1890 - First edition of this classic work of uniformology, a colossal masterpiece by military painter Eugène Titeux.
Two strong volumes in sheets, each containing the full text followed by the plates in fine, the first volume has 44 plates (complete), the first plate only is partially affected by marginal wetness and a small marginal paper loss. The second volume comprises 40 plates (complete), with traces of more or less heavy wetness on the left margin affecting the last 8 plates to varying degrees (slightly warping the paper and partially soiling the last 3 plates).
This copy has been left in sheets and placed in two attractive cardboard folders with burgundy cloth spines, made later, each folder having these strings to hold the sheets. With the exception of spotting on a few plates, the copy is in excellent condition, free of foxing and uncut.
This work has become very rare, with an unnumbered print run of 500 copies, making it one of the great works of uniformology.
Colas, 2883
In Folio, 8p + 331p + plates, 335p + plates.
