Bound in full burgundy morocco, spine with 4 raised bands and boxes decorated with gilded fillet frames, a superb mosaic tiger in the central box, highly evocative of Clémenceau, quadruple framing of gilded fillets on the boards with ornamental stars at the corners. Gilded fillet returns on the edges, same morocco border with quintuple framing of gilded fillets on the inside covers, moiré cloth endpapers. Original covers preserved. In matching bordered slipcase, slight rubbing to spine and slipcase, minor defects. A very fine copy. Illustrated with 56 plates. In-8, 428pp.
