A la librairie d'Houdaille à Paris, 1835 - Very rare and sought-after first edition of one of the most beautiful Romantic illustrations devoted to hunting. Features an elegant sepia-toned lithographed title-frontispiece and 51 black lithographed plates after Eugène Forest.
Later binding from the early 20th century by Bruel-Legal, in brown half calf with corners, well-executed pastiche, spine with 4 nerves decorated with gilt fillets and cold decoration in the boxes, some rubbing not serious. Very fresh interior, with few brown spots.
André Bruel, a very eclectic bookbinder, is one of the most interesting names in original bookbinding of the early 20th century.
