NOTICE
A native of Besançon, Marcel Wibault is renowned for his mountain paintings of Mont-Blanc, Chamonix and the peaks of the Alps. A student at the Beaux-Arts, he discovered the grandiose landscapes of the massifs when he became a member of the French Alpine Club. He settled in Chamonix in the early 1930s and discovered Savoie, where he transcribed the region's chalets and flowers. An experienced geologist, he painted numerous rocks and bore witness to the construction of the Mont-Blanc tunnel.
