NOTICE
Antoine Malliarakis, known as Mayo, was a Surrealist painter of Greek origin who made his career in France. Between 1923 and 1927, he studied at the Beaux-Arts in Paris and frequented the Montparnasse district. He befriended artists such as Desnos, Man-Ray and Tanguy, and frequented the Grand Jeu surrealist group.
Dina Vierny and the Motte, Valmay and Alain Blondel galleries in Paris. From 1966 to 1980, he moved to Rome and exhibited with Picasso at the Annunciata gallery. The end of his career was marked by an exhibition of his work at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 1986.
