NOTICE
Born in 1944 into a family of artists, José Maria David spent his childhood close to nature. Beginning his working life as an antiques dealer, he decided in 1986 to become a sculptor, and set his sights on animals.
Captured in significant movement, José Maria David's animals are reminiscent of Rembrandt Bugatti's sculptures, with their powerful forms and vibrant surfaces. He himself claimed to be able to create a work in a matter of hours and capture the essence of the animal. Today, he is considered a contemporary master of animal sculpture.
