ENLUMINATION - HOURBOOK - 15th century Illumination depicting SAINTE BARBE in the center of a garden touching a tower on a mountain background, in a reserve, for the beginning of the antiphon of Saint Barbara. With illuminated V lettering, margins illuminated with acanthus leaves and interlacing, featuring figures including probably Saint John below and a musician angel playing the lyre, red, green and blue colors, gold. "De Sancte Barbe antene. Veni electa mea et ponam inte thronum meum alleluya..." verso, continuation of the antiphon up to the middle of the folio. Probably France, second half of the 15th century Book of hours folio on vellum, 15.5 x 10.7 cm (mitered on paper, repairs, wetness, discoloration, folds, folio trimmed, as is) in a gilded baguette frame.
