[Miniature]. Book of hours in the use of Rome. Flanders, 15th-16th century. In 8° (160 x 115 mm). [83] papers. Calendar in red and black, 2-line initials in gold, 7 3-line initials with borders on the long margin phytomorphic and inhabited by animals, 4 half-page miniatures within borders of plants and flowers with gold depicting the annunciation, King David, God supporting Christ on the Cross, and, at the opening of the Office of the Dead, a funeral mass with officiant and monks (defects and lacking, incomplete.) Coeval binding in hazel calf with dry iron decoration on the plates, 4-nailed spine.
