Ketham, Johannes de. Fasciculus medicie praxis tam chirurgis quam etiam physicis maxime necessaria. Venice, Cesare Arrivabene, 31.03.1522. In 2nd (315 x 214 mm);[4] LVIII [but 59], [1] papers. Frontispiece within woodcut frame, typographical mark to colophon, 10 full-page woodcut figures (missing papers C4-5, E1, 2, 7 and 8, bookplate D poorly bound, upper part of text restored, halos, restorations with missing frontispiece and last papers with loss of text). Modern green morocco binding. Fundamental series of medical treatises set up by Anton Francesco Arrivabene, with beautiful woodcut illustrations. The author of the sylloge seems identifiable with Johann Kirchheim born in Württemberg and graduated from Vienna in 1458, a diligent collector of texts and anatomical drawings. Lot not eligible for return.
