[Biography]. Imperiali, John. Musaeum historicum et physicum. Venice, Giunta, 1640. In 4° (210 x 150 mm); 2 parts in 1 volume; [16], 122 [but 212]; [8], 219, [23] pages. Engraved frontispiece within figured frame, 56 near-full-page portraits (Tomitano's portrait, as usual, was not engraved, sporadic browning, wormhole in lower margin of six center papers). Coeval vellum binding with manuscript title on spine (small faults on back plate).
First and only edition devoted to the study of genius. Biographies include Llull, Vesalius, Telesio, Zabarella, Aldrovandi, Settala, Alciati and Tasso, among others.
