[Vue d'optique]. Two copper engravings from the second half of the 18th century depicting views of The Hague in coeval coloring, formerly perforated and covered with colored paper on the verso to backlight the sheet, within frame. Optical views were observed through optical boxes, and especially the openwork ones, thanks to a light source, created transformative effects mostly related to "day and night" viewing of the same scene.
