Imprimerie nationale. 1776. 1 volume in-4, contemporary marbled brown calf, cold fillet framing the boards, ornate ribbed spine, red title page.
Collection of 28 royal ordinances or regulations dating from the beginning of Louis XVI's reign (December 12, 1775 to August 11, 1776) and concerning the organization or administration of France's regiments or military buildings. 2 fold-out tables give detailed figures for Infantry and Dragoon supplies. Of particular note are an ordinance on the administration of the Hôtel des Invalides, the regulations governing the Ecole Militaire and the creation of an Irish infantry legion. Regions covered include Quercy, Alsace, Brest, Ponthieu and Corsica.
Binding slightly rubbed, a small tear on the spine, light foxing. Slight wetness on first few leaves.
