MASSENET (Jules). Autograph musical manuscript signed, entitled "Plus vite! 1886. 55 bars to 13 systems of 3 staves, occupying 3 pp. 1/2 in-folio on the recto of 4 Lard-Esnault ruled ff. mounted on tabs in an in-folio volume, midnight blue half-chagrin with corners, smooth spine with gilt title throughout, gilt fillet on leather edge on boards; binding rubbed (period binding). MELODIE POUR VOIE ET ACCOMPAGNEMENT DE PIANO SUR UN POEME D'HELENE VACARESCO, beginning in G major and ending in G minor. Manuscript dated Étretat, September 25, 1886, with two autograph notes, one stating, "... Je suis souffrant et triste" (on the first page), the other, "... moi, souffrant. 1st fire of autumn. Juliette [Massenet's daughter] in the salon" (on the last sheet). AUTOGRAPHIC SENTENCE SIGNED BY THE COMPOSER (on one endpaper): "À Madame Henri Heugel, j'offre respectueusement ces quelques mesures manuscrites... Paris 1892".
