Albarello Faenza, first half of the 16th century Majolica. Height 18 cm. Conservation: chipping to the base and some glaze loss From the cylindrical, slightly tapering body, it accommodates the "porcelain-style" decoration with the apothecary inscription in Gothic characters in a wide central cartouche band. On the remaining surface thin leafy stems with berries and a broad fan-shaped palmette. At the ends bands with short oblique dashes For albarellos of this type see, for example, those preserved in Faenza, Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche and published by C.Ravanelli Guidotti, "La donazione Galeazzo Cora, ceramiche dal Medioevo al XIX secolo," Milan 1985, nos. 801-802
