Large Deruta dish, first half of the 16th century Polychrome large-fired majolica. 41 cm diameter. Conservation: a restored felting at 6 o'clock radiating toward the center The large "pump" dish, of typical Deruta form, has wide brim and in the wide cavetto houses a three-quarter female bust@@@ in the background, stylized city. The brim has six compartments in which embrocations, palmettes, and lanceolate leaves alternate. A large circular spiral brushstroke in diluted blue adorns the fully glazed verso. In order to hang the dish, two "raw" holes were drilled in the foot ring A very similar dish, albeit with another female figure, is in the Gillet collection (AA.VV., Majoliques Italiennes du Musée des Arts Décoratifs de Lyon, Dijon 2001, no. 86)
