Frank Brangwyn, Porte St. Jacques, 1923 Etching with passepartout. Depiction of the city gate with a lively street scene in the foreground. Signed lower right. Inscribed, numbered (285) and dated upper left. Dimensions approx. 41 x 54.5 cm. With traces of age and use. Sir Frank William Brangwyn (* May 12, 1867 in Bruges; † June 11, 1956 in Ditchling, East Sussex) was a Welsh painter, graphic artist, illustrator and designer. In 1952, Clifford Musgrave estimated Brangwyn's oeuvre at over 12,000 works - including around 1,000 oil paintings, 400 etchings and woodcuts and 280 lithographs.
