Etching after Rembrandt: "Christ heals the sick", around 1900
Etching after Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn (1606-1669): "Christ heals the sick". Reichsdruck, around 1900 with dry stamp of the Reichsdruckerei lower right and numbering lower left: "103". Stamp on verso: "Facsimile reproduction of the Staatsdruckerei Berlin." Dimensions approx. 49 x 57 cm. Print in good condition, paper margins with traces of age, darkened and torn. Rembrandt Harmensz. van Rijn (1606 Leiden - 1669 Amsterdam). 1621-23 pupil of the painter J. van Swanenburgh. In 1624 he set up his own studio in his parents' house. From 1626 he shares the rooms with J. Lievens. 1631 Moves to Amsterdam. He created numerous paintings, drawings and etchings. Impressive chiaroscuro effects give the paintings a particularly lively effect.
