Italy: M 1855 sabre for officers of the cavalry - Johann Elias Bleckmann, Solingen
Italian cavalry officer's sabre M 1855 with fullers on both sides, double fullers to the point, and pommel point. Nickel-plated blade engraved on both sides with arabesques and an eagle crest in between, as well as the maker's engraving "J. E. Bleckmann in Solingen". Iron knuckle-bow hilt with fluted wooden grip and finger recesses. Black lacquered steel scabbard with one suspension ring, second ring missing. Blade l. 84 cm. Total l. w. Scabbard 98.5 cm
