‘desire pouvoir etre admis a Bibliotheque de l'institut’ (Translation:
‘wishes to be able to be admitted to the Library of the Institute’), adding
‘Je ne sais comment il faut s'y prendre, pour obtenir cette faveur. Veuillez avoir l'obligeance de vous charger de cela, et de lui procurer son entree a la bibliotheque’ (Translation:
‘I don’t know how to go about obtaining this favour. Please be so kind as to undertake this, and procure for him his admission to the library’). With integral address leaf in Halevy’s hand. Some light age wear to the extreme upper edge of the letter, otherwise VG
