PUCCINI GIACOMO: (1858-1924) Italian Composer. A very fine and attractive A.M.Q.S., `
Giacomo Puccini´, a bold golden ink signature to the front of an Italian postcard showing Puccini´s home in Chiatri, Lucca, stating to the heading `
Torre del Lago - Ag[osto]
1902´. Above his signature, Puccini has penned a three bars musical quotation which he entitles `
La Boheme´. The musical quotation corresponds to the opening measures of Mimi´s first act aria `
Mi chiamano Mimi..´ The opera title, the musical quotation and the signature are boldly annotated to the lower white border. To the verso the postcard is addressed to Berta Meyer in Livorno. An excellent and very attractive card. VG
La Boheme
(1895) is an opera in four acts by Puccini, one of his most acclaimed and most performed operas ever.
